Slim Aarons: Gold Coast
Gold Coast is a print collection devoted to the Palm Beach photographs of Slim Aarons, celebrating the life and work of fashion designer Lilly Pulitzer - coined the originator of American resortwear.
From the 1950s through the 1990s, Aarons traveled up and down the South Florida coastline photographing the cities, resorts, and local residents on assignment for Holiday, Town & Country, and Travel + Leisure. While dozens of images were published at the time, including some of his best known, hundreds of unseen images remained in the archive.
This collection features uncovered photographs from Aarons' archive with most making their public debut as part of a 2024 exhibition at the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens and Museum in West Palm Beach.
